New health bill proposals. How can they even consider this?
The Senate Finance Committee is considering amendments this week to a bill that is the health insurance industry’s dream legislation. The bill would require unaffordable insurance plans, mandate coverage with penalties for persons without insurance, write age discrimination into law, require taxpayers to pay billions in subsidies to private health insurers and fail to include a public health insurance option — something a majority of the public has said they want.
The amendments offered by opponents of women’s reproductive health care include: restoration of abstinence-only education, adopting a conscience clause, no pre-emption of state laws regarding abortion, no federal funds for abortion and others. -Excerpts from NOW
If passed, this MANDATED health insurance plan will charge hundreds of thousands of Americans more money than they make in a YEAR. Every American family would be required to pay more than $25,000 a year, out of pocket, in health insurance premiums alone -minimum. This practically guarantees families making less than $40,000 a year, to go into serious debt (good bye house, education, food, etc.), and even more debt, when those penalties kick in for not having money left to up with the MANDATED health insurance payments. There will be no other option. Privet insurance only.

Quizzard – Only a part of this came from NOW ( abortion bits and things that women care about.)
The rest came from non gendered sites. Money issues. $25,000 mandatory health insurance …. 40% of income in extra tax costs… etc.
Doctori – Social security is a disaster. Ask anyone who depends on it. Even Medicare, which was coppied from canadas health system was screwed up by our own people putting their ideals and agenda’s into it, at the expence of the viability of the program, itself. This same nonsence is what is ruining the new health system they are discussing today. It could work- if they would stop adding expencive personal agenda, they could pay for NEEDED sevices without charging ridiculus amounts of money. Maybe ONLY the 40 % tax, and nothing else.
